Overview
- - it gives a quick taste of differing terrains and creatures to interact with
- Proof of Concept for what an interactive terrain of pure beauty can attain.
- In the final full island chat world product, the Crack in the Earth is one of the first explorations
- It gives the promise of more to come, to motivate the new explorer to start the longer exploration of the upper island with its large areas of one major biome such as the huge desert and the Shadowed Jungle.
- A strength of the tech demo is having the base design of the island behind it. The tech demo will quickly evolve into the highest form of tech demo and a work of art - a conversation piece to walk within.
A Crack in the Earth - Placement in the Navigation Scheme
- When the full island is developed , this will be the first obvious draw of attention at Genesis Beach. This will become a wandering canyon into the upper plateaus. when the explorer eventually attains their personal dirigible they will see the Crack in the Earth as they left it - the random layout the explorer last experienced as it winds through the New Moon range and the plateaus and other features of the high desert.
- The canyons run randomly through the center of the island but does not give access to the island above - later on the explorer will see the canyons from above as it was last formed by the explorer - later if the explorer revisits then the layout of the canyon through to the middle of the island will be in a completely different layout as the explorer last formed it
- The canyon is a dead end after random terrains are run through. Huge whirlpool terrain at top end of canyon. Perhaps half of the random terrain available for the Crack in the Earth will be activated and the Whirlpool terrain will be found. then on the way back to the beach the rest of the random terrain will be explored (replacing all previous terrain).
